TAO

This is my cat, Tao (pronounced Tay-Oh), and she is the closest thing I have ever had to a guardian angel. She is a Ragdoll-Siamese, she’s extremely cuddly and affectionate, and we share the same birthday. My mother and I were at a gas station one day and there were people outside with a cardboard box full of kittens. My mother had picked her up without me even knowing until she got back in the car with her. I got her when she was only two weeks old. Her mother was hit by a car, and the family who owned her decided to give away the kittens because they didn’t honestly believe they were going to live. Tao’s eyes hadn’t quite opened when we got her, but they opened for the first time when we took her home, and the first thing she saw was me. From then on, I cared for her. She was so small that she had to drink from and eyedropper, and I constantly carried her in my pocket.

Tao was the first thing I ever truly loved, and before her I was just an angry child with no reason to care about anything. It is because of this animal that I have been able to continue on and face every difficulty that comes my way, because I simply cannot be without her and I want to provide her with everything I can in this world. She is my everything, and every one who knows me knows that.
